Onward and Upward!

If you caught my last post, you read about my husband's terrible horseback riding accident that put him in the hospital for going on two weeks now. I wanted to post an update on his condition for all of you who reached out to me with your wonderful words and acts of kindness. I heard from readers all over the world, receiving messages and emails that brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your kindness and love. I will work every day to deserve having you in my life!

This post is also for any of my readers who want to know what's up with my publishing schedule which has been delayed by this accident. Honesty, I had no idea how hard it would be to write anything at all … even an email … when my husband was on death's doorstep! Awful stuff, truly awful. I could have written a slasher novel told from a serial killer's perspective; that's how dark I've felt over the last 10 days. But there's a light at the end of this tunnel of ours, so onward and upward! We have only good things to look forward to, friends.

Husband Update

Craig still has a broken pelvis, but it's on the mend, and his internal bleeding has stopped on its own without much surgical intervention (he had a femoral arterial ablation done, but that was better than what was on the menu!). He's walking like a 120-year-old man with a walker, but hopes to graduate to a cane soon. I'm going to buy him a really cool one with a dragon head on it, of course. Broken bones don't heal when they're not under pressure, so he has to walk on the dang thing. It's crazy painful, but he's tough and determined to get this thing behind him, so he walks. He'll be coming home this week, and I'll have a really fancy (ugly) hospital bed in our living room all ready for him, and there it will stay for the time being, since he can't walk up stairs for the foreseeable future. Maybe in a month or two he'll be just on a cane for occasional use; that's our goal, anyway.

Drifters' Alliance

Now, for my publishing schedule… I'm just about finished with Drifters' Alliance 3. I had only 10,000 words left to go on it, so I'm hammering those out this week, come hell or high water! I have a bunch of pre-orders on that book, and no one needs to worry about being disappointed with a delay. The book will be delivered on time, right to your Kindle if you've preordered. I'm not sure if it'll be live in mid-November as scheduled or earlier. We shall see.

War of the Fae

My War of the Fae fans have been waiting patiently for books 9 and 10, and number 9 was supposed to be available at the end of October, but that's unfortunately not going to happen. (Boo hiss!) There will be a delay for both books of about 60 days. That puts their releases in either late December or maybe even January. I'm going to try to do things faster for you guys, but I hate to change plans and delay things again, so lets just keep it fluid for right now, and as we draw closer to the end of the year, I'll be able to fix a more definitive date. This series is very special to me, and I need to do the right thing and not rush it just for the sake of hitting a date that was fixed before I knew the surprises life was going to hand me. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding. I promise, you won't be disappointed. Jayne and friends still have a lot of adventures to share.

Just One Night and Just One Week

My Just One Night series continues to be popular with readers, and its sequel Just One Week is coming out in November and December, life willing. I've gotten about half of it done, and I will press on and try to get the rest of it finished so it can release on time. Best case scenario, it'll be out in weekly installments (it is a serial, after all) starting in November; worst case, January. This is another one of those fluid situations. Thanks to my fans of this series for their patience too!

Welcome, new readers!

I have a bunch of new readers jumping onto the Elle Casey bandwagon due to my release of Wrong Number, Right Guy through Montlake Romance. This book has stayed in the top 100 at Amazon since its release on September 22nd, and as of this moment on October 11th it's still hanging in there at #25. Yay! There will be more books in this series (at least two) released next year, maybe one of them even in the first quarter. I can't wait to see what you all think of the next one! If you liked the writing style and tone of that book, you might want to check out my Rebel Wheels, Love In New York, Just One Night, or the MacKenzie Family series. You can search all my books by genre starting HERE. I write in a lot of genres, so if you like to try something a little different sometimes, feel free to click a different button or two on that page!

New Projects

There are various other little single releases I was hoping to finish for you this year, but all of those will be shuffled over to 2016 because as you can see from the above, I'm going to be very, very busy in the last quarter of 2015 getting all these other delayed projects sewn up. Good news for 2016 … I'm trying to put together all the conditions necessary for the writing of Sea Wenches, a series I've been contemplating for 3 years! I have the covers done and a description up on Goodreads, and readers ask me often when they'll be out, so I hope it'll be a fun series for all of my readers, regardless of which genre they prefer. Think Pirates of the Caribbean crossed with Little Mermaid and you might get close to my vision for the project. 🙂

Thank you, Noelle!

Last, but certainly not least, I want to send out a very special shout out to Noelle, my assistant. She has been indispensible to me and my husband in running our publishing business, but after he hit the dirt, she really kicked into high gear. I've never had a more dedicated colleague, and I send a special prayer up into the universe for her and to the forces that delivered her into our lives! She is a true angel of a girl, and I'm so lucky to not only work with her but to have the opportunity to share her with my readers. Come on over to our Facebook page at Elle Casey's Inner Sanctum and say hi to her if you haven't already. She's a book worm's book worm, and loves nothing more than to chat about her or your latest reads! If you're not a part of the Inner Sanctum, sign up here!

  1. Elle,

So relieved to hear that your husband is making such good progress! I’ll continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers. I honestly don’t know how you can even think about your publishing schedule right now but as always, you give a hundred percent to everything you do. Take good care of yourself and try not to run yourself into the ground.

Remember Craig needs you more than us at this stage so don’t bust a fuse trying to keep up with times and dates re: publishing, OK?
